Hi Everyone,

The end of the month has arrived once again, and with it, some news.

I’ll keep this one short.

Facebook Page Now Live:

For those of you who are addicted to social media, you’ll be (happy/sad/indifferent) to know that I’ve finally opened my official Facebook page this month. Not my profile, which I’ve had since 2008, but my author-specific page, which lets me cross-post articles from my blog, as well as announce relevant promotions and do all the things that separate my author life from my personal life. Hopefully, this will make it much easier for my friends to talk to me again. 😉

If you want to follow my author page on Facebook (or LinkedIn, if you roll that way), I’ve added a link to my social buttons at the bottom of this message. My Twitter button is also down there if you prefer getting the short version of things. For those of you who stop reading after the first paragraph, well, this announcement won’t help you. But for those who read four paragraphs or more, now you know! And for those of you who read the entire message, you probably already know. Thanks for sticking with me this far!

Kindle Vella:

The other item worth mentioning is that Amazon has officially announced that its new reading platform, Kindle Vella, will be launching sometime in mid to late July. If you’re unfamiliar with this platform, its purpose is to provide readers with a serial reading experience, similar to Wattpad, where they can read episodic content rather than book-length content as a source of entertainment. Like television, each episode has its own story arc, though it may add up to a greater series arc. Every episode runs between 600 and 5000 words (about 3-20 pages), and can be unlocked with pre-purchased tokens. You can read all the details here, but the reason I’m mentioning it is because I’ve started a story for Kindle Vella, and I’ll have ten episodes available at launch. Once the platform becomes available to readers, I’ll talk more about this story. But the short version is that it’s a 1980s era coming-of-age story that pays homage to movies like The Karate Kid and Better Off Dead and adapts the story from my long-in-development coffee business adventure game, Entrepreneur: The Beginning.

It’s a fun read! That’s what I tell myself. 🙂

Other Stuff:

Finally, in other news, the annual Summer/Winter sale at Smashwords begins July 1st, and as usual, most of my books have been enrolled in the promotion. Because my website isn’t open yet, readers of my newsletter have access to specials that are even better than what the sale offers, but I still wanted to mention it, as the sale covers titles I no longer promote, and if you ever wanted to check them out without having to spend much for them, then July is a good month to go shopping at Smashwords.

The other thing is that I had a birthday this month. Yay, I’m older! Okay, we don’t need to discuss that one any further.

So, that’s all for June. Hope you’re doing well. Hopefully my next newsletter will feature significant website progress. But until then, have a great July!

–Jeremy

Note: Obviously, this post is based on my newsletter, so my links to social media are different here. The good news is that you have more ways to connect with me here on my site than you do through my email newsletter. The bad news is that I still rarely check any of my social media pages (except YouTube, which I check every day).
