Newbie Sensation
-Hero is the first title released by ncw64, and it adheres to all of the traditional newbie stereotypes like generic story, blocky graphics, and unfinished scenes.
Audience Consensus:
Don’t give up. Use this as your learning game and take what you’ve learned to make something better.

Spiral Vote
-When placed in a straight line by order of votes received, the variant numbers cycle around 5 like a hurricane.
Achievement
Simplicity Evasion
-The OHRRPGCE comes with many native actions that any user can apply to his or her game through the CUSTOM editor. Chronoboy Adventures essentially redesigned the wheel by eschewing all of CUSTOM’s features in favor of creating an entirely plotscripted experience, even down to character movement. The end result was so buggy and notorious that many players gave up trying to make any sense of it, making it one of the most overcomplicated games in OHR history.
Audience Consensus:
Ambitious game that fails from its numerous bugs. Possible problem: scripts for simple things that should’ve just been done in the engine.

Lonely Sequel
-There were two episodes of Tales of the New World planned for Heart of the OHR, but due to the first game having only minor improvements since its last release and not actual new content (as the rules require), I had to reject its entry, leaving only the sequel eligible for participation.
Achievement
Throwback Warrior
-Classic 8-bit RPGs of the Dragon Warrior variety were genre mainstays in the early 1990s, and Tales of the New World 2 brings that style back with a vengeance.
Audience Consensus:
Too many walls of text bog down the playing experience.

First Person Shooter the RPG
-Apophenia plays like a traditional first-person shooter, with the exploding barrels and everything. But it’s not an FPS. It’s an RPG.
Achievement
Shortest Man on the Totem Pole
-The contest requires games have 30 minutes of gameplay to be eligible for entry, and Apophenia really pushes that minimum threshold by having about ten minutes of gameplay (that can be stretched to 30 if you’re slow enough). Game counters the time issue, however, by providing a clear and satisfying endpoint, making it ultimately acceptable for the contest.
Audience Consensus:
Much shorter than the 30-minute deadline, and the menus are a bit awkward. Lack of music improves atmosphere, though.
