Traditional Awesomeness

-Legendary Heroes does an uncanny job taking a classic and tired monster-killing formula and making it fun somehow.

Achievement

Subquest Harboring

-Has plenty of side missions to look for.

Audience Consensus:

Speed of battles sets this game apart from most traditional RPGs. Incentive to return to past towns also helps. Trading feature is bonus fun.

-This is the second release of Do You Want to Be a Hero?, and it comes with clearly marked brand new stages.

Achievement

Fan Favorite

-Despite it still coming in third, the fans had come out in droves to support it, and that was part of why it didn’t come in second (see achievements for Vikings of Midgard for further explanation).

Achievement

Village People RPG Sympathizer

-VP lost first place in the RGC 2009 because Surlaw didn’t vote for his own game.

Audience Consensus:

Time limit increases replay value. Battle system solid. Battle system also antiHeart, but what can you do?

Gatherer of Achievements

-Vikings of Midgard has more achievements than any other game, even if they’re all basically the same achievement.

Audience Consensus:

Abbreviated dialogue and stylized Fenrir graphics make this a standout. No one really knew how to judge it, though, so most people abstained from the vote. This, of course, helped its average score enough to take the lead from DYWTBAH.
