The McCray Parables:
The Fountain of Truth
The Christmas grinch just got a Christmas miracle, assuming he doesn’t blow it.
Boy meets girl. Boy tells three Christmas stories to BS girl into dating him. Boy should probably keep his mouth shut.
It’s Christmas Eve, and Douglas McCray has just met the woman of his dreams. As the man known as the chief holiday grinch, this “Christmas miracle” comes as quite the surprise to him.
Miranda is visiting his company on business, trying to sell it marketing materials it doesn’t want and having no luck. But when Douglas’s introduction accidentally fools her into thinking he’s in management with the power to buy the products she’s peddling, he must skillfully tell her a holiday-themed story about fancy restaurant patrons who miraculously lose their false facades and start telling their families and friends cold, hard truths to each other to backtrack on his deception and convince her he’s neither a liar nor an idiot. But as one story leads to another, he finds he must use his storytelling to not only help get her the sale she wants, but also, hopefully, the date that he wants from her.
The Christmas grinch just got his Christmas miracle, assuming he doesn’t blow it.
The McCray Parables: The Fountain of Truth retells the stories of “The Fountain of Truth,” “Christmas Log,” and “St. Nick’s Gym,” to launch a new holiday tradition of telling feel-good fables at Christmas while simultaneously teaching its storyteller a lesson in humility and thoughtfulness, featuring Douglas, Miranda, and their cast of wacky friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers in a series that will continue their main story in future installments.
